the panic begins
I can feel the wave of anxiety and panic sweeping through the office. The whispering notions of "when is the snow beginning?!"..."oh, the traffic...good Lord, how treturous the traffic will be once the snow begins"..."I heard 6 inches...no, I heard 8-10 inches...Hurricane Schwartz just called for 12 inches!"..."I better take my computer home - I may be house-bound for a few days!".
That's right ladies and gentlemen - the first snowfall of the year.
Now, mind you, I love snow storms as much as the next person. Anything that may create a day off of work for me? I'm all for it. But seriously. The drama created by people over a few silly inches of snow is just completely ridiculous and outright annoying. These are the same people rushing to the grocery store to stock up on non-perishable items, bread, milk, and eggs in case they are snowed in without any lifeline to the outside world. Snap out of it people! The sun will rise tomorrow...and while there may be snow on the ground...life will go on!
Geesh!
