It's 81 degrees, no humidity, barely a cloud in the sky, Friday afternoon...and my boss is on vacation. Today is a good day.
With my birthday just a week away, I'm getting more and more excited to celebrate another year gone by. I have always loved celebrating my birthday and adding another digit to my age. 30 doesn't scare me. 40 gives me the willies, but 30 I can deal with. And with 30 right around the corner, I look forward to embracing my coming-of-age and anticipate what the age of 28 will hold for me. No matter what age I turn, I still feel like I'm not quite old enough though. Old enough for what can vary from day to day; like feeling not old enough to take on the job promotion that I so desire, feeling not old enough to start a family quite yet (however, a personal decision), or still giving the impression that I am not old enough to buy cigarettes without getting carded. So maybe it's the curly hair and freckled face that are my biggest stumbling blocks, but when will I finally reach the age where I don't feel so young?

Funny.. at the almost same age as you, but with a child, I too, often feel like I am still a child. Funny how that works. Maybe I'm in denial about being an adult.
