much needed weekend

Since my mind has been overloaded with nothing but work stresses recently, I needed a fun weekend to break away and have myself some fun. And that I did.

Friday night was exactly what I needed - a night in with my hubby, a glass of wine, and veggin' out with two of my favorite movies, 13 Going On 30 and Under the Tuscan Sun. If you know me at all, you'll know that I am a huge fan of collecting movies. I have the dream of one day establishing my very own homegrown Blockbuster collection with the help of Amazon's wide selection of used DVDs. A geek to the core, I know. I currently have about 70 DVDs and the index of titles continue to grow, with 13 Going On 30 and Under the Tuscan Sun as my most recent purchases. And I was ultra psyched to come home on Friday and find that these additions were delivered by my favorite postman that afternoon. My night was set!

Saturday night I traveled down to the parts of Bel Air, MD to visit a dear friend and celebrate her 28th birthday. The night consisted of dinner out followed by a night spent in with cocktails and good people. After hours of long overdue gossiping and dishing about any and all topics to be covered - you know, the important stuff like Brangelia and the heartbreak of Jennifer...and 'how could Charlie treat Denise like that'?...and 'Ew! What was Britney thinking when she put on that outfit and pranced herself out into public!' - the night broke out into a dance party right there in the middle of the kitchen. And what better to break out such dance impulses but my new jam Hung Up by Madonna. So my girls and I had a fun get-jiggy-wit-it session and finally hit the sack around 2am.

The older we get, the less it takes to make us happy...
