resume building
I want to make more money. I want to have a job that I love. I want to make more money doing the job that I love. So how does one achieve this American Dream?
My drive to work is through some of the richest neighborhoods in my area and is a constant reminder of what I am striving for day-to-day. Hopefully by playing the 'low man on the totem pole' role now will help guide me to success in the future. To assist this slooooow process along a bit faster, I have been taking classes at Penn State towards a Web Graphic Design Certificate (I finish in mid-November!) and have decided to additionally pursue a Project Management Certificate. I am avoiding the MBA program like the plague simply because the thought of taking my GMATs again makes my throat close up, my tongue swell, and hives begin showing up all over my body. Such a violent allergic reaction is just not worth it.
I try to measure my experience against job openings that I see listed in my field. For example, I recently saw a job posting at a company I have been eyeing up for years as Online Marketing Account Manager. The job has my name written all over it. But I see in the requirements that "Project management skills are strongly preferred" and, although I have gained plenty of project management experience in my current and past jobs, additional education in this specific realm could only benefit. Right?
Whether I decide to stay with my current company or if I decide to venture down another career path, I am hoping these resume additions will assist me in getting the job (and paycheck) that I want.

Would you consider applying for it w/o the additional education?
From what I'd heard from you, it seems you have plenty project management experience.
Perhaps you are more qualified than you think?
I know, I know. But I don't want to leave my current job until I've at least completed my Web Graphics Design Certificate - which should be mid-November.
Michelle - I feel it necessary to tell you that I totally bought the Steve Madden shoes you advertised on your site this week (albeit in brown). Today, they were delivered and completely made my day, so I feel like I should thank you!! Have a great weekend, girls!
