one step at a time
Lately my evenings at home consist of a mere 1-2 hours of relaxation before heading to bed for my mandatory 6-8 hours of sleep. After a long day of staring at my computer, going through the mundane, monotonous schedule of this nuisance called my job, I look forward to kicking back with a glass of wine and watching whatever catches my attention on the television. I've taken a hiatus from my reading habit only due to my limited library of books, all of which I've read, and am in the process of looking for a new novel to consume. Until then, my nights are engulfed in my laptop and reruns of Sex and the City.
Last night I was faced with the responsibility of completing my recent Flash project for my Intro to Flash course. With only 3 more classes left, our take-home assignments continue to get more and more difficult and take more and more time to complete. This week's project took me 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. I don't mind investing the time and the projects are actually quite fun, but after a full day of mind-numbing corporate bullshit, I just don't have the patience.
But what I have to look forward to is, after these last 3 classes I will have officially completed my Web Graphic Design Certificate. There are still a few classes in the curriculum that I want to take, but it's nice to know that I now have the certificate to put on my resume. It feels good to have reached this goal. It feels good to have accomplished something that will hopefully have a positive effect on my career path, and maybe ultimately, a career change for the better.

So where are you getting your certificate from? Is it online?
I am taking classes at Penn State Great Valley (just outside of Philadelphia).
