when tuesday is friday

Today is the final work day of my week and I am ecstatic.

I have nothing planned for my days off except for sleeping in, getting a head start on some Christmas shopping, and attending my 10 year high school reunion on Friday. And not only am I attending my reunion, I was also roped into the planning committee for the big event. This is what I get for being an overachiever in high school and running as class secretary all four years. So I guess it was to be expected that I play the role of the overachiever reunion planner as well.

Friday night will undoubtedly include a lot of "What are you up to now?" conversations and catching up with old friends I haven't seen for almost the full ten years since strolling the halls of my alma mater. Attending your high school reunion can be reason for high anxiety and gives you good reason to judge your life accomplishments thus far. And, worst yet, you dread how your fellow classmates will judge the person you've become.

But I've decided to put all those anxieties aside and look at Friday night as an evening to throw back some brewskies with a few of my oldest friends. It can't be that bad, right?

ugh.
