this ain't disneyland

We have ourselves a mouse problem.

The unwelcome inhabitance was first noticed by my husband and I about 3 months ago in our basement when Sierra’s food was vandalized, with mice craplings left behind. War was officially launched the day I reached into Sierra’s food bag, only to scoop up two of these furry scoundrels. Needless to say, I unleashed a scream loud enough to awaken the entire neighborhood, subconsciously thinking Where’s Eddie?! He usually eats these things…”

We optimistically thought the uninvited guests were secluded to the basement when they had actually spread to the upstairs closets – one even made a pretty nest in the cups of one of my previously worn bridesmaids dresses. We began to find droppings in the kitchen and behind our living room couch. The problem was growing and with winter quickly approaching, we had no choice but to purchase the dreadful mousetraps.

But before we began the ambush, I made certain my husband knew he was to take on the full responsibility of disposing of the remains before I caught sight of them. I just wanted him to take care of the problem without actually seeing how it was done. My husband had become a hitman with a mission.

Two months have now passed and the varmint problem has only gotten worse. The friendly neighborhood exterminator is scheduled to visit us on Saturday morning to hopefully rid us of the situation once and for all.

Say a prayer for Mickey and Minnie.

Maybe you should get a mouse-eating pet. Like an anaconda or something cool like that. Good luck!

Oh man. My heart goes out to you. When I lived alone, I discovered they were inhabiting my tiny kitchen. I immediately called the super, told them they HAD ARRIVED, and then told them I'd handle it. And by handle, I mean I closed the kitchen door (lovely french door it was), and never cooked again, nor did I dare open a cabinet. Just stored everything in the fridge and ate out. A lot.

I will pray for you!
