halloween overload
Halloween has never been one of my favorite holidays. I always enjoyed dressing up in costumes when I was young and the candy overhaul was enjoyable during my years of a fast metabolism. But over the years, dressing up in costumes became annoying and the candy overhaul inflicted torment to my efforts of keeping my calories in check. Dieting and pillowcases filled to the brim with Snickers bars just don't mix...
However annoying this holiday may be to me, there are people in this world who are obsessed with celebrating this "Day of the Dead". The fake cobwebs strung around their trees and bushes, coffins leaning on the front porch, "scary" cackles and moaning sounds playing on a continuous loop, and gory skeletons hanging from the trees with nooses tied to their necks. And all this at the beginning of September.
Why do people find it necessary to turn their houses in to haunted houses during this time of year? It is one thing to decorate for a Halloween Party - the weekend of Halloween. It is yet another to have your house looking like a scene from The Amityville Horror for two months straight.
