marriage is bliss

I can't help but sit here and think of the chaotic state my life was in just one year ago. This time last year, I was just two months away from my wedding date and just two days away from making settlement on my first home. Needless to say, I was what you would consider a bride-to-be on massive amounts of steroids. My stress level was to the max and my husband was about to leave for Las Vegas for a month-long business trip. Yes, a month-long business trip only to return just three weeks before our wedding day. Not only was I managing the biggest decisions of my life to date, but I was doing them...solo. Thank GOD for my girls. And large quantities of alcohol.

But once I was into my new home, things started to settle into place and my stress level turned into excitement for all the wedding events that were soon to come. My amazing bridesmaids threw me two showers - yes, two. One for my family that my mom organized herself and a second "Jack n' Jill" shower that was a co-ed celebration for both my hubby-to-be and I. Both parties were an absolute blast and I couldn't have been more surprised if I woke up that morning with my head sewn to the carpet. And all along I thought I was on to them...

All the events leading up to the big day...the showers, the bachelorette party, the rehearsal dinner...could not have been better premonitions to what my big day had in store for me. It was a day that I will never forget - the weather was perfection, all the details fell into place, and my husband-to-be was unforgettable. And after all is said and done, I am happier today than I can ever remember.

Can I go back in time and wear your dress? That's a beautiful shot.
