Instead of spending my weekend evenings in smoke-congested bars, I have come very accustomed to lounging on my couch, with a lovely glass of wine in hand, watching a good movie (at the moment it is Training Day), and entertaining myself by way of online shopping.

It is an ugly, yet addicting, new form of entertainment I've discovered, but my winter wardrobe has been reaping all the benefits. When stores begin front-lining their spring lines and placing their winter line on sale or clearance lines in the midst of 20-degree weather, eager shoppers gain the rewards. As annoying as it is to see capris and sundresses being advertised in the midst of the cold, frigid winter months, the discounted winter apparel most certainly makes up for it.

So as I may be sitting here on an uneventful Friday night with a full glass of Chardonnay, an intriguing flick on the boob tube, and the warmth of my husband napping on the couch next to me, I also enhanced my winter woolies with four new sweaters from JCrew and American Eagle.
